CRISPIAN PERSISTS WITH NEW STYLE

'But She's Untrue'/'Your Ever Changing Mind' (Decca)

Crispian St Peters' change of style with his last single didn't work out any too well, but he's still persisting with it - and this is a decidedly better disc than the previous one.
A gentle, rhythmic ballad, with a faint Latin tinge - and acoustic guitar introducing an element of folk. The self penned melody is appealing and the poignant lyric is treated tenderly and compassionately.
FLIP: More like Crispian's earlier hit - a bubbling finger snapper with an explosive chorus. Backing features organ, twangs and rattling tambourine.
