Extract from article describing the Poll Winners concert
SECOND HALF
by Alan Smith
CRISPIAN ST PETERS doesn't walk on to a stage; he gangles, like a long, lean Texan walking down the main street of a small western town about to meet his doom. He wore a blue jacket and grey trousers, and his hair curled over his eyes like a mournful sheepdog.
Suddenly he jumped at the microphone and bent it low to within about three feet of the stage, growling out the oldie "Send Me Some Lovin'"
This got a good response, but it was the opening sounds of his hit "Pied Piper" that drew the best reaction.
